Oni Onigiri Pop-Up
July 21 at 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm
EVENT UPDATE: Unfortunately, @oni_225 woke up sick on this day and will understandably be unable to pop up at Miel. We wish them a speedy recovery AND are happy to announce that they will be back at Miel to pop up on Sunday, August 4th.
GOOD NEWS IS THAT EM’S IS STILL ON: It’s not all bad news though because @emsbakery.br is still joining us on 7/21 from 12pm-5pm (or sell out). Swipe to see her always amazing menu featuring new desserts this time!
We hope you come support! Thank y’all for rolling with the punches.
Oni, a pop-up specializing in onigiri and Japanese street food, is coming back to Miel! We’re thrilled to have them partner with Em’s Bakery for a day filled with delicious eats.
Hailing from Baton Rouge, Oni is the brainchild of chefs Shawn Cao and Riley Dunaway. With years of experience in commercial kitchens and a shared passion for cooking, they’ve set out to introduce traditional and street-style Japanese cuisine. Their debut at Nola Nite was a resounding success, and now they’re bringing their culinary talents to New Orleans, popping up at Miel!
While Oni’s menu is still in the works, you can expect a lineup of classic onigiri flavors. These Japanese rice balls are wrapped in nori seaweed and filled with a variety of delicious ingredients: such at savory caramelized beef to creamy tuna mayo, snow crab, and savory miso tofu mushroom. And don’t forget to try their twist on Inari, featuring sushi rice nestled in seasoned fried tofu pouches. Rumor has it, there’s also a special collaboration with EM’s Bakery in store!
Mark your calendars, because this pop-up event is not to be missed!
